Welcome to the Blackpool Festival of Light, part of the Blackpool Illuminations, the biggest temporary light show in the World. The Festival is a mixture of spectacular and intriguing events and installations taking place in Blackpool during the 66 nights of the Illuminations. The Festival begins on 25th August with the opening of 'Artificial Sunshine', an exhibition of the History of the Illuminations. Here you can get up close to working Illuminations and see original drawings and diagrams dating back to the 1930's. On Saturday 2nd September make sure you see the spectacular, 'Pose on the Prom' Honda Goldwing Light Parade where you can experience hundreds of illuminated machines winding their way along the promenade. Whether you are an enthusiast or not this is a spectacle not to be missed. We have also transformed the Thunderbird Three installation into a famous artwork, which will be unveiled as the artists create the painting over the forthcoming weeks.   Keep an eye on this sight for details of events and installations happening all over Blackpool as they're confirmed and whether you're from Blackpool or just visiting; enjoy the lights!
